MASTERING REBREATHERS
Jeff Bozanic

Mastering Rebreathers is a comprehensive new book on rebreathers written for the recreational, technical, and commercial divers, and underwater photographer. Its chapters cover all types of rebreathers currently available, the history, physics, physiology, and theory of rebreather diving, pre-dive, the dive, and post-dive procedures, maintenance and travel considerations. It is designed for use as a generic textbook for all agencies and all rebreathers. (Hardcover: 548 pages) ISBN: 0-941332-96-9

Carlīs comments: It is a very good and comprehensive book about rebreathers. It has everything that a beginner to a novice needs regarding theory and information. However, more advanced readers will find that the book has nothing in it regarding "technical" diving with rebreathers, the writer has not expanded the information to cover trimix or heliox diving with rebreathers. It is the best book on the market today regading rebreathers and rebreatherdiving to a maximum depth of 40 meters.

THE SIMPLE GUIDE TO REBREATHER DIVING
Steven Barsky, Mark Thurlow and Mike Ward

A new way to breathe under water! Diving with a rebreather can open up a whole new level of enjoyment. It is the ultimate way to dive. Rebreathers let you dive deeper and stay under water longer. With the availability of nitrox, rebreathers are more popular than ever. For the underwater photographer, wreck or cave diver, or small boat owner, rebreathers offer new diving adventures. This book takes the mystery out of rebreathers and explains this exciting technology in clear-cut language.

Carlīs comments: This book is a good introduction to rebreathers. It is well written and has many nice pictures. However, it has very few pages on RB theory and even less on psyiology. I think they should have included more information about different rebreather models, how they work, and more about the advantages and disadvantages between the different models. This is not the book for someone who has already been trained on SCR and CCR rebreathers.

Both books are published by: Best Publishing Company
